WonderLab is located downtown on the B-Line Trail in the heart of the Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD).
The Museum is just a short walk to Indiana University, the Bloomington Convention Center, and downtown hotels,
shops, restaurants, galleries and other attractions. WonderLab welcomes visitors of all ages and abilities.

Getting to WonderLab

WonderLab is a convenient day trip for visitors from central and south-central Indiana, as well as from metro areas in adjoining states. The museum is approximately one hour from Indianapolis and French Lick/West Baden, and slightly more than two hours from Cincinnati, Evansville, and Louisville.

  • Take Exit 4 (IN-37 S. Harding St.) from I-465
  • Continue south on IN-37 to College Ave./N. Walnut St. exit
  • At the IN-45/46 Bypass, Walnut St. becomes College Ave.
  • Continue south on College Ave.
  • Turn right on Fourth Street and go two blocks
  • Take IN-46 west through Nashville to Bloomington
  • Continue on IN-46W as it becomes Third St. in Bloomington
  • In downtown Bloomington, turn right on Walnut St.
  • Go one block and turn left on Fourth St.
  • Continue on Fourth St. for two blocks
  • Go north on IN-37 to the Whitehall Pike/Third St. exit
  • Bear right onto Third St. and continue to downtown Bloomington
  • Turn right on Madison St. and go one block
  • Turn left on Fourth St. and you are on the museum block
  • Take IN-46 west to Bloomington
  • Turn right on College Ave.
  • Turn right on Fourth St. and go two blocks

downtown_wayfinderWonderLab is easily accessed by public transportation, with a  Bloomington Transit bus stop right in front, and the main bus station just three blocks east. If you’re driving, look for the way-finder sign for Downtown Square. WonderLab is also accessible to walkers and bikers on the B-Line Trail. The Museum has a bike rack outside.

WonderLab has adjacent, on-street parking and nearby public parking facilities. Free options are available. Visit the City of Bloomington Downtown Parking Website for more information.


The 2019 Parking Fees Chart shows the parking meter fees for the City of Bloomington’s public parking garages, on-street parking meters, and surface lots.


Parking at the Monroe Convention Center lot is free all day Saturday and Sunday and from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.


Limited free parking is available to the general public after 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday across the street from the Convention Center. The parking lot, near the Napa Auto Parts Building, is located on the southeast corner of College and 3rd Street.


Meters ($0.25 per 15 minutes) are enforced Monday through Saturday, 9 am – 9 pm. These spaces are free on Sundays and City of Bloomington holidays. You can use coins, credit card, debit card or Park Mobile smartphone app.


The Morton Street Garage ( entrance at 300 N Morton St) is the closest public parking facility, between 6th St and 7th St just two blocks north of WonderLab.  The first hour is free, Monday through Saturday, with a cost of $.50 per hour for each subsequent hour.  Sundays are free.  The garage is monitored 24 hrs/day, 7 days/week.  This garage is an easy two-block walk to WonderLab via the B-Line Trail, suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.


There is one accessible metered parking space in front of WonderLab. See also the public parking garages.


WonderLab members may request a special parking pass at the WonderLab welcome desk to display in your car’s windshield that will allow you to park in the back lot of the Monroe Convention Center on weekends and holidays. Please contact the Membership Manager or staff at the Welcome Desk. This lot is an easy one-block walk to WonderLab via the B-Line Trail, suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. There is no hourly restriction on these parking spaces, so you can relax and enjoy your visit at WonderLab.


Your group confirmation letter will provide instructions on bus parking.
