Royal on the Eastside / Subaru of America has pledged $1,000 a month for 12 months totaling $12,000 to help fund the new WonderLab exhibit area Science Sprouts Place. Science Sprouts Place will be a collection of exhibits designed, developed, and constructed specifically for children ages birth through three and their caregivers. Royal on the Eastside is Bloomington and South Central Indiana’s Choice for new and used Subaru vehicles. Subaru of America is an American car manufacturer with a commitment to support local community programs – particularly those that primarily benefit children and young adults.

The Science Sprouts Place exhibit area will feature original exhibits that allow the youngest scientists to explore, experiment and build skills ranging from physical development to social and emotional development. In addition, Science Sprouts Place will offer information for caregivers.

According to Emmy Brockman, WonderLab’s Education Director, the first three years of a child’s life are sensitive years for the brain’s development. Science Sprouts Place at WonderLab will provide unique learning opportunities that demonstrate essential tools for learning during this critical time of brain development.

“What’s great for me about Science Sprouts Place is that it’s going to build the identity of scientists at a young age,” Brockman. “We are helping lay the foundations of the next generation of STEM professionals and critical thinkers in our society.”

According to the philanthropic statement from Royal on the Eastside: “All of the organizations we support have one thing in common: the unwavering dedication to improve the world and the lives of its people.”

Phase one construction for Science Sprouts Place was completed August 23, 2018.  Phase two begins August 2019. The exhibit area will be open to the public in Fall of 2019. Entrance to Science Sprouts Place will be included in the price of general admission and available to all.
