COLLEGE INTERNSHIPS & WORK-STUDY JOBS

WonderLab offers valuable field experiences for college students. Internships for course credit must be approved by the student's school or department. WonderLab has hosted interns from many different disciplines, including many non-science fields. In addition, WonderLab has work-study jobs for college students who qualify for such positions. The following are sample opportunities.

ANIMAL CARE Assistant Open Summer 2010 Supervisor: Sara Beatty sara [at] wonderlab [dot] org • Provide animal care & feeding several times/week • Help keep habitats and Animal Care Room clean • Help procure supplies and food for animals	Specific Qualifications • Eligible for work-study funding • Interest in biology • Experience working w/ animals preferred
BIRTHDAY PARTY Assistant Immediate Opening (primarily weekends) Supervisor: Andrea Oeding andrea [at] wonderlab [dot] org • Greet and work with children and parents • Assist in set up and clean up • Lead party science activity	Specific Qualifications • Eligible for work-study funding • Saturday and/or Sunday availability • Experience/comfort with children and adults
CAMP DIRECTOR Assistant Open Late Spring/Summer 2010 This is an unpaid internship Supervisor: Kirstin Maxwell kirstin [at] wonderlab [dot] org • Help buy, pack, and set up materials and supplies • Assist director with administrative tasks • Help teachers with activities and directing interns • Supervise children on playground at lunch hour	Specific Qualifications: • Must have reliable car transportation • Experience/comfort with children and adults • Outstanding organizational skills
Coordinator of HIGH SCHOOL INTERNS Open Late Spring/Summer 2010 This is an unpaid internship Supervisor: Jeanne Gunning jeanne [at] wonderlab [dot] org • Handle inquiries and screen applicants • Schedule interns for summer • Coordinate with camp director on intern roles • Supervise and mentor interns at camp • Manage records of prospective and active interns • Manage intern evaluations and recognition event	Specific Qualifications • Work experience with teens and volunteers • Availability from May through July • Proficient in use of Word and Excel (PC) • Must have reliable transportation
EXHIBITS Assistants No Openings at this Time Supervisor: Tony Ritchel tony [at] wonderlab [dot] org • Help maintain/repair exhibits • Assist with preventive maintenance and cleaning • Help develop and install new exhibits	Specific Qualifications • Eligible for work-study funding • Ability to lift 75 pounds and climb • Experience with power and hand tools • Availibility on Mondays, plus some weekday afternoons and evenings
GRAPHIC DESIGN Intern Open Summer 2010 Supervisor: Louise Schlesinger louise [at] wonderlab [dot] org • Create designs for print and web projects • Maintain WonderLab brand	Specific Qualifications This position is typically filled by students in the IU Fine Arts BFA program. If such a student is not available, other graphic design students will be considered.
MARKETING Assistant Open Summer 2010 This is an unpaid internship Supervisor: Louise Schlesinger louise [at] wonderlab [dot] org • Help develop marketing strategies • Conduct market research • Maintain contact lists, archives and online media	Specific Qualifications This position is typically filled by a marketing major in the IU Kelley School of Business through the Civic Leadership Development Program. Others may be considered.
MEMBERSHIP Assistant Open Summer 2010 Supervisor: Esther Smail esther [at] wonderlab [dot] org • Process mailings, update database and file • Project work (e.g., surveys, e-updates, events)	Specific Qualifications • Eligible for work-study funding • Ability to learn and use new software
MUSEUM Assistant Open Summer 2010 Main Supervisor: Jeanne Gunning Jeanne [at] wonderlab [dot] org This internship offers broad experience working a museum in the areas of Gallery Operations as a floor manager, Programs Department, and Volunteer Department.	Specific Qualifications • Flexibility and ability to learn new skills • Ability to interact with people of all ages • Proficiency working on Mac computers
VISITOR SERVICES Assistants Immediate Openings Supervisor: Jennifer Jenkins vsm [at] wonderlab [dot] org • Be a friendly greeter of museum visitors • Sell admissions, memberships, gift store items • Ability to learn computerized register system • Assist manager in other tasks as assigned	Specific Qualifications • Eligible for work-study funding • Retail or customer service experience
