Barrier-Free Building and Exhibits
All public areas and most exhibits are accessible. The museum's elevator is located on the left side of the blue column on the first floor. Exhibits are multi-sensory and incorporate universal design whenever possible.
Accessible drinking fountains are located on both floors of the museum.
WonderLab staff who work in public areas are certified in first aid and CPR. First aid kits are located on both floors of the building.
WonderLab has a limited number of noise-reducing ear covers that can be checked out for free use in the museum.
There is one free handicapped parking space in front of WonderLab with a four-hour limit. There are additional such spaces in the nearby public parking facilities.
Accessible restrooms are located on both floors of the museum. A family restroom, which can accommodate a caregiver, is available on the second floor near the cafe/vending area.
Museum directional signs are ADA-compliant and incorporate Braille.
WonderLab has two wheelchairs that can be checked out for free use in the museum. Please call Visitor Services at 812.337.1337 ext. 25 in advance to inquire about the size of available wheelchairs and to reserve a wheelchair.
