Join the Maker Movement! Design and build your special structure or object! We'll supply cardboard of all shapes and sizes - plus scissors, tape and other materials - and you supply the creativity for a festival of extreme fun for all ages. Drop in to work on an individual, group, or family project Saturday and today.
Participants will start at the Inspiration Station, where they can get ideas by watching video clips from cardboard festivals that have been held around the world and examine wheels, levers, and other components of things that have been built using cardboard. At the Planning and Design Station, participants will design a project on paper and create a supply list. Moving on to the Cardboard Shop Station, participants will select cardboard pieces and other building supplies needed for their project. The Cardboard Works Station, staffed by museum volunteers, will offer made-to-order services, such as cutting large cardboard pieces with special tools. All participants' creations can be put on display or taken home. Toddlers will have their own special building area. This program is associated with WonderLab's special summer exhibition, Construction Junction: The Science of Building.
