The Science of Birds and Migration
Saturday-Sunday, April 5-6
Time: 1:30 - 4:30 pm
Activities included with museum admission.
Explore the patterns of bird anatomy, feathers, feeding habits, and migration through crafts, experiments, and games. Make your own bird mask to take home, and don't miss the Migration Challenge at 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Recommended for children in elementary school, teens, and adults.
First Friday Evening With Pizza!

Special Reduced General Admission After 5:00 pm: $3 per person

Family Astronomy Nights
Tuesday, April 8 - Friday, April 11
Time: 7:30 - 9:30 pm (Drop-in format; Clear skies only)
Location: WonderGarden outside the museum.
Cost: Free to the public
Get an “out of this world” view of the Moon (before dark), Saturn, its moons, and more with a deep space telescope. The museum will be closed after 5:00 pm. If sky visibility is uncertain, listen to the museum telephone recording after 6:00 pm to see if the program will be held. Recommended for upper elementary children, teens and adults.

Science Soup: Playing With Patterns

Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (drop-in format)
Cost: $3 per child, plus museum admission
This new program for toddlers and preschoolers with their caregivers offers a selection of activities to help stimulate a child’s mind, curiosity, and creativity. This month's special sensory experience is a big pool of flaxseed that can be manipulated like clay. Dress for messy activities!
Through the Looking Glass: The Science of Light and Reflection

Activities included with museum admission
Guide a laser beam through a maze, "dissect" a beam of light, make tangram pictures, and explore light, reflection, and patterns through other fascinating hands-on activities. Recommended for upper elementary children, teens and adults.
Science From Scratch: Kaleidoscopes

Cost: $5 per kit, plus museum admission
Discover the science and art of kaleidoscopes! Enjoy and play with beautiful one-of-a-kind kaleidoscopes by renowned artist Jerry Farnsworth, discover the internal workings of kaleidoscopes, and then make your own kaleidoscope to take home. The morning workshop is recommended for elementary-age children. The afternoon workshop is recommended for teens and adults.

Science From Scratch: Origami

Learn about the history of this art form as you receive step-by-step instructions on folding a single sheet of paper into geometric shapes to create dimensional artwork. Each participant will make and take home several origami projects. Great for beginners! Recommended for upper elementary children, teens and adults.

Teen Challenge Night: Retro Game Night

Cost: $3 per teen
If you're a teen, you missed the 1980s! Here’s your chance to see what you missed! Discover what a “Sit-n-Spin” is, help build a giant fort, and compete in the Twister Tournament. It’ll be, like, totally cool!! Free snacks. Pizza will be available to purchase. You must be in grades 7-12 to get in. No parents or siblings. WonderLab will provide adult supervision.
